Dr Abdul-Rasaq Adesola Adebowale is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Food Science and Technology, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria. He specializes in Food processing and Storage Technology. He is a support staff (Processing) for the Cassava: Adding Value for Africa Phase II (CAVA II) Nigeria. He is the Regional Coordinator of a World Bank Sponsored Project titled “Upscaling the Nigerian Flash Drying Experience for Sustainable Regional Trade and Income generation in West Africa” (Ghana, Benin Republic, Sierra-Leone, Nigeria) (2013-2016).
He is also the Desk Officer, Gains from Losses of Roots and Tuber Crops (GRATITUDE) Project, sponsored by the European Union (2012–2014). Before joining the services of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria; he was a Research Associate and Consultant at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, (IITA), Ibadan, Nigeria (2005-2007). While at IITA, he was involved in a Harvest plus project in the aspect of effect of processing on the carotenoids retention in different products from β carotenoids enriched cassava, yam, maize and cowpea. He is a member of many National, Regional and Professional Associations notably Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology, International Society for Tropical Root Crops, African Network for Internationalization of Education, International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) and International Union of Food Science and Technology.
